Inspired as we are by the power of public art to be a megaphone for social and environmental advocacy and a motivator for meaningful change, we could not help but fall in love with Eve Mosher and her 2008 New York piece, HighWaterLine, that was recently featured in the Surface Tension, a water centric exhibition at Eyebeam Art + Technology Center

HighWaterLine brought the reality of climate change home by tracing out the new waterline that will exist on the island of Manhattan should sea levels rise 10 feet as a result of climate change—the current 100-year flood height for New York City and its environs is predicted at 9.7 feet

We salute Eve for her creative approach to underlining the importance of water issues.
